Japan Gallery is pleased to present a gallery talk by Takao Kosahata （ Kosahata ・ Takao ）, a doll artist who has fascinated many people. He will talk fully about his outstanding technique and aesthetic sense.

Since ancient times, Hina dolls have been made with the best of Japanese aesthetics and techniques to wish for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. Their history is a precious cultural heritage that conveys the elegant culture of the imperial court to the present day.

Takao Osahata, the third generation of "Katsura Hina" born in the former Katsura Village, has breathed new life into Hina dolls by introducing innovative materials and designs while continuing the tradition.

This exhibition introduces a wide variety of works that transcend the boundaries of traditional Hina dolls. The beauty of colors woven by the finest fabrics such as Nishijin brocade and Yuki tsumugi, the collaboration of traditional Japanese colors and patterns, and innovative designs incorporating modern sensibilities.

The one-of-a-kind world that unfolds here is a fusion of Japan's proud craftsmanship and the sensibility of artists.
