Kintsugi" is the process of repairing chipped or broken pottery using the "maki-e" technique. The damaged part is decorated with lacquer and gold to make it stand out and give new life to the vessel. In this class, beginners can learn how to kintsugi chipped pottery in three sessions. The instructor is Mr. Gen Saraya ・, a maki-e lacquer artist in New York who has restored many works of art using lacquer. He will explain the traditional process using only natural materials such as real lacquer and pure gold in an easy-to-understand manner !
What you need to prepare : Glazed pottery with a small chip. Please send us a photo of your pottery after you register. (*If you do not have one, please let us know so we can purchase one from the instructor. \ \ \blur}
