The exhibition will feature a variety of calligraphy on the theme of "Living" while interweaving ink and Japanese culture.
Kochi Prefecture-based calligrapher Kayo KITAKOMI ( Kayo KITAKOMI ) has been energetically holding solo and group exhibitions in Japan and abroad based on the theme "Live and let live !" and pursuing the possibilities of calligraphy through collaboration with other genres. In the New York exhibition, he will exhibit a number of calligraphic works on the theme of "living" by interweaving sumi ink and Japanese culture, including "Hymn - Living", a large work written with the idea of "living carefully in this moment in time of the Corona disaster and seeing distant wars in real time".
This exhibition will also feature unique works that transcend the concept of calligraphy. Kayo Hokkomi is not bound by any one style or way of thinking, but is always looking for new ways to express herself. - Always Beginning -" is the motto of Ms. Kitakomi, and this exhibition will make you look forward to the beginning of something new. Please come and see this exhibition.
