2023 Sea Firefly Observation Tour Participants Wanted ！.

When you hear the word "sea firefly," you may think of the "Umihotaru PA" floating in Tokyo Bay
. Sea fireflies are crustaceans that normally live at the bottom of the sea.
They live in the sand of the ocean floor during the day and swim and feed at night.
Their swimming activity is most active from spring to autumn.
They emit blue light as a threat to foreign enemies, and they do so when stimulated.
Males also emit light as a courtship display.
Tateyama Bay is a good habitat for sea fireflies. We will collect them by your hands,
observe and experience the cobalt blue glow of sea fireflies on your hands, and then return the fireflies to the sea.

＜ Eligibility ＞
Elementary school students and older, up to 5 people per group
*As the observation tour is held at night, children only are not allowed.
Also, no more than 5 people per group of elementary school students and above are allowed. Also, children under elementary school age can participate at their parents' risk.
*Two pairs of collecting jars are available for rent.

＜ Participation fee ＞
3000 yen per pair

＜ Number of participants ＞
30 pairs per day
