< Japan Gallery > Kayo Kitakomi ( Kayo Kaitomi ・ Kayo ) Sumi Ink Exhibition "IKIRU - Not Yesterday, Not Tomorrow, Live Now Now

The exhibition will feature a variety of calligraphy on the theme of "Living" while interweaving ink and Japanese culture.
Kochi Prefecture-based calligrapher Kayo KITAKOMI ( Kayo KITAKOMI ) has been energetically holding solo and group exhibitions in Japan and abroad based on the theme "Live and let live !" and pursuing the possibilities of calligraphy through collaboration with other genres. In the New York exhibition, he will exhibit a number of calligraphic works on the theme of "living" by interweaving sumi ink and Japanese culture, including "Hymn - Living", a large work written with the idea of "living carefully in this moment in time of the Corona disaster and seeing distant wars in real time". Prior to the exhibition, Mr. Hokkomi said, "I create the world of sumi ink clad in Japanese tradition, picking up what I feel in my daily life and hoping that they are hymns to life, full of the joy of living. I am happy to meet many people with my works in New York, a city that I have visited many times, fascinated by the energy of New York, the city of racial melting pots.

This exhibition will also feature unique works that transcend the concept of calligraphy. Kayo Hokkomi is not bound by any one style or way of thinking, but is always looking for new ways to express herself. - Always Beginning -" is the motto of Ms. Kitakomi, and this exhibition will make you look forward to the beginning of something new. Please come and see this exhibition.
