Hello CEC Friend!

Don’t miss your chance to VOTE NOW https://vote.participate.nyc.gov/the-peoples-money-2024 on projects to help your community!

You don’t have to be a citizen, 18 years old, or registered to vote to determine how millions of dollars will be spent in your borough.

If you are 11 years or older and live in New York City – you can VOTE in the People’s Money! Do you want an art, mental health, or college and career readiness program in your community? Tell us by casting your vote!

Thousands of New Yorkers just like you are making their voices heard by voting for projects that matter to them. Don’t let someone else decide for YOU!

You can vote online on.nyc.gov/pb https://on.nyc.gov/pb! It’s very easy! Just enter your zip code to get started and find your borough ballot.

Help multiply people power – share the voting link with your friends, family, and community members- please ask other people to add their voice too! You can also check out The People’s Money Voting toolkit https://docs.google.com/document/d/15MQ42Buxr6wwri92lY4ALgKXphsCSR29BnidMEhmCqQ/edit for graphics in Spanish and other languages to reach more community members. You can post on social media, share information with your neighborhood or tenant association, and any other NYC organization that you’re a part of.

Ballots are also available in person at sites across the city http://on.nyc.gov/pbvotesites.

This year, we have a special campaign that is dedicated to making voting in The People’s Money fun and playful. The Sunnies are playful little sculptures designed by our Artist in Residence Yazmany Arboleda, and handmade by immigrant mothers. The Sunnies campaign also family members: “Mama Sunny,” a giant inflatable that serves as a voting station, and two giant puppets called “Civic” and “Engagement.”

We invite you to come meet the CEC team and the” Sunnies” family at these events:

June 2: Queens Pride Parade, Jackson Heights, 11am-6pm

June 5: National Immigrant Heritage Month Celebration, Immigrant Heritage Plaza, 11am-12:30pm

June 8: Staten Island Family Fun Day, Clove Lakes Park, 10am-3pm

June 9: Brooklyn Puerto Rican Day Parade, Sunset Park, 5pm-9pm

We are excited to partner with you to make The People’s Money reach more New Yorkers! Thank you for your support to strengthen democracy in New York City!

Sincerely,

Dr. Sarah Sayeed
