With the change in modern lifestyles, a new style of tea ceremony called taterei, in which tea is served at a table with tea utensils on a chair in a Western-style room, was invented and is now widely practiced at tea ceremonies and other events. The kettle, ladle, and other utensils are the same as those used for tea ceremony on tatami mats, so everyone is welcome to participate, from beginners to experienced tea masters, including those who have not started tea ceremony because they are not comfortable sitting on the floor, and those who wish to entertain guests in the taterei style. This class is also recommended as a continuation of the "First Table Tea Ceremony" class held by Omotesenke School Soumeian. One-day trial is available, and a certificate of permission can be obtained.
