Dr. Yoshie Iya is a researcher specializing in the history of modern export crafts and has studied how Japanese porcelain developed in overseas markets. After completing her M.A. （ Aesthetics ） at Kwansei Gakuin University, she studied Modern Export Craft History at SOAS University of London Graduate School, where she received her M.A. （ Distinction ）. He then completed his Ph.D. at the Orient Institute, Oxford University, and received his D.Phil （ Doctor of Philosophy ） in 2006 for his doctoral thesis on modern export porcelain, including Old ・ Noritake. He served as a specially-appointed professor at the Global Support Center of Tokyo University of the Arts from 2015 to 2023, and is currently a visiting professor at Teikyo University and a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts.
