I know that if you are a US citizen, it is impossible to renew your Japanese passport in the US because you cannot present your green card, but
can you renew your Japanese passport while you are temporarily in Japan for a few weeks ？
I looked on the website, All I need to renew is the passport that is about to expire and an application form.
Since it takes 7 days from application to receipt, is it theoretically possible to renew my Japanese passport during my temporary stay, even after
obtaining US citizenship?

*I know that I lost my Japanese nationality when I acquired US citizenship, and that checking "no other nationality" when renewing is a false application, so
I am not seeking such an answer. I am asking if it is possible to renew or not.

Trial for amendment of Article 11 of the Nationality Law
Under the current Japanese Nationality Law, a person "automatically" loses Japanese nationality if he/she voluntarily acquires the nationality of another country.
Now, plaintiffs residing in Switzerland and other countries are fighting in court to amend this. I think this is an important trial for those of us living in the US.
There is a petition campaign on change.org to amend Article 11 of the Nationality Law. Currently, about 43,000 votes have been collected, but it would be great if more people would sign the petition. The next trial will be held in September. By the way, I am an individual and not a member of this association.

Nice to meet you. I have a question regarding the entry of a foreign national's family member into Japan.

A family member of a Japanese permanent resident (with re-entry permit) is currently in the US and will be returning to Japan for the summer vacation. Due to immigration restrictions, I understand that a visa is required for foreigners to travel to Japan, but is it the same for permanent resident foreigners? You should contact the embassy, but if anyone knows, I would like to know.

I have just married my American boyfriend, and now that we have our marriage certificate, we are going through the green card process.

So here is my question. I am on an F-1 VISA and have 12 college credits. I am going to be busy with VISA procedures, etc. I would like to destroy my I-20 and switch my status to I-797C if possible. The international office at the college does not recommend destroying the I-20 until I receive my green card. But I can switch to I-797C and stay. I was told.

Personally, I would like to change my status before I submit my green card paperwork and continue to take classes at the college for 12 credits or less.

Is there any risk there ？

I would appreciate it if you have had a similar experience or have any information.

２０１７年にグリーンカードの条件削除申請をしたひとはいらっしゃいますか？
大変混み合ってるという情報をゲットしたのですが
とうとう、わたしの手持ちのグリーンカードの有効期限切れ日から一年が経とうとしており、
一年間延長できるという手紙の効力もなくなろうとしています。
いったいどうしたらいいのでしょうか。

私はバイオリニスト・ピアニストを目指して
音楽学校に入学するのが最大の目標です。
ですが、両親からのサポートがありませんので
自分でお金を稼ぎながら
音楽の勉強やビザの維持もしなくていけない状態です。

一番目の問題点は

もうすでにアメリカで学士を取得しましたが
ビザキップの為に語学校に登録していました。
しかし、今まで通っていた語学校は
12月23日になくなるという事で
他の学校を探さなくてはいけない状態です。

二番目の問題点は

出席しなくていけないので
仕事をする時間も含めると
楽器の練習時間が取り難いことです。

三番目の問題点は

ビザの問題で金銭的に余裕がなくなり
レッスンを受けられるような状況ではありません。

出席しなくてもビザの維持できる学校、
できるだけ学費も低い学校の紹介をお願いできますか？
