NYの格安ホテルおしえてください。

知人が近くNYに来ることになりそうです。私はこちらに住んでいるのですが、
アパートは狭くて泊められないのでホテルを探しています。
最近のホテル事情がよくわかりませんし、
前に泊まったいくつかのホテルはあまりいい感じじゃなかったので、
どこがいいのかと思っています。

マンハッタンまたは周辺で格安(1泊50ドル前後?)で感じのいい(清潔、部屋が広めなど1つでもあれば)ホテルをご存じの方いらっしゃったら教えてください。
ちなみにキッチンつきで安いホテルってあるんでしょうか。
