治安について

私は今、カリフォルニアのカレッジに通っていて、City University of New York, City Collegeに編入を考えています。（編入がうまくいけばの話ですが。。）
それで、City College周辺はかなり治安が悪いと聞きました。
そんなに危険なのでしょうか？
治安を考えて、他の大学に変えた方がいいでしょうか。。
何か情報あれば教えてください。
よろしくお願いします。

CCNYに通っていますが、普通に学校に通う分には全然治安は問題ないですよ。私の授業は夜ですが、一人でも怖いと思ったことないです。
