日本への帰国

日本へ帰国しますが、
１．さしあたって不要な荷物（ほとんど本）を船便で日本に送り返したいんですが、いまは船便ってどこもやってないと聞きました。安い運送方法ってないですか。
２．ホテル代を節約するため、契約が切れる当日までアパートにいてJFKに向かおうと思いますが、それで何か問題があるんでしょうか。まわりの人（日本人）に聞いても分かりませんでした。

こんにちは。1週間前程前からＮＹに住み始めました。
なのでＮＹのPost Office事情はよくわからないですが
今まで2年位ＬＡに住んでいました。
ＬＡで何回か日本に荷物を送った事がありますが
航空便、船便どちらもできたんですが・・・
船便ができないっていうのはPost Officeの人が言ってたんですか？？？
契約が切れる当日までアパートにいて空港に行くっていうのは問題はないと思うのですが契約が切れる日とフライトの日は同じなのですか？？
